Edit - Replace Clip and Automatically Add Captions

During editing, you may want to replace or add a clip. Right now, you have to essentially start over with a new project as once the captions are applied, there's no way to go back.

A feature that allows you to switch out the video without making new captions, so that you can upload a new version of the video but keep the old caption.

Hi Captions Team,
First of all, thank you for creating such a great tool. I’ve been using Captions regularly as part of my content production business, where I make short-form videos for a wide range of clients.
However, there’s one major issue that’s causing a lot of extra work in my workflow. When I export a video from DaVinci Resolve and upload it to Captions to generate subtitles, everything works great. But often, after sending the final video to a client, they’ll request minor edits (e.g., tweaks to color grading or visual adjustments that don’t change the structure, timing, or audio of the video).
Unfortunately, this means I have to re-upload the new version of the video, generate captions again, and manually fix any small inconsistencies that appear – even though i just dit that whit the last video
My question is: Is there currently any way to swap out the video in a project without having to re-generate the captions? And if not, is this a feature that you’re planning to implement?
I’ve tried sending feedback before but haven’t received a reply, so I wanted to reach out directly. This is becoming a real bottleneck in my workflow, and I’d love to stay with Captions – but if this feature isn’t coming soon, I might need to explore other options.
Looking forward to your thoughts – and thanks again for the great work you’re doing.

Option to remake/add a clip when using teleprompter.
vini kjekshus
I wish it was possible to add a clip already filmed or remake a clip that didn’t got any good (when using the teleprompter). For example if I were to add some illustrations/animations between the talking on videos.

While working here, I may need to change the video (same audio and lenght) but it's not possible right now, the same happens with adding more video (like b-roll).

Also to be able to trim the video or image being replaced

Replacing footage, keeping same captions

There should be a way for us to replace footage, but keeping original captions you've created. Many times the video gets updated but the captions could stay the same. I have to keep recreating the captions over and over again. I believe this is not a feature on phone app either.

Edit - Replacing the video on the timeline

Please update: Replacing the video with a new video directly on the timeline. I don't want to re-caption the whole video.
